Q.U.A.D. (free binder program!)

Queer Underwear Accessibility Department (Q.U.A.D.) is a community-funded program distributing free gender affirming undergarments to folks in Maine who are unable to access them. We currently offer chest binders and bottom binders (a.k.a. “tucking undies”/“gaffs”).

To submit a request, please fill out our Google form, or contact us via email (etain.portland@gmail.com) or phone (207-370-7278). This program is intended for Queer and Trans folks who cannot otherwise purchase or obtain a binder, so please apply only if this describes you. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to ship/distribute out-of-state at this time. If you can afford to cover some, but not all of the cost, consider making a contribution to Q.U.A.D. and help others to benefit from this program as well!

The number of garments we distribute each month is subject to current funding and availability—first come, first served. Pick-up is at our shop at 646 Congress St. in Portland, where we are also happy to assist with sizing.

Applicants who do not receive a garment within the month will be placed at the top of the waiting list for the following month. Style and color options are also subject to availability. Participants are eligible to submit new requests every six months; however, priority will be given to those who have not yet collected a binder through the program.
